Mary Ellen Costa
Mary Ellen Costa grew up in Alton, IL. She lives with her husband, Dow, and their three daughters. Mary Ellen has served as secretary of the TLPC council/session since January of 2005. As secretary, Mary Ellen records notes during the council/session meetings and distributes them to council members for review and approval.
The Costa family moved to Truckee in 2000. Mary Ellen spends her time volunteering in classrooms, working a part-time job at Truckee Elementary, and driving her children around town. She appreciates the beautiful scenery around Truckee and is frequently known to tell her kids, “Look around at this beautiful place! This is where we live!” Mary Ellen is a huge basketball fan, and enjoys cheering her alma mater, the University of Illinois, to victory. Her daughters are involved in basketball, volleyball, skiing and Girl Scouts. Mary Ellen enjoys spending any spare time she finds hiking, snow shoeing, or visiting over a cup of tea.
