Text Notes: As far as Mark is concerned, the story of Jesus begins in a wilderness instead of a manger, with John’s announcement that the Lord is on the way. John’s prepares by offering a cleansing bath of forgiveness to all who repent.

Sermon Text: Ezekiel 34:11-16, 20-24
Sermon Title: “The Shepherd”
Text Notes: After condemning the faithless shepherds of Israel’s people, the prophet envisions a time when God will become Israel’s faithful shepherd, rescuing them from the places where they have been scattered, gathering them together, feeding them with good pasture, while binding up the injured and strengthening the weak.
