Ed Czerwinski

Ed is a 4th, maybe 5th, generation Californian, a real prune picker. Born in Mojave, he lived in Boron, Mariposa and Bowman before finally settling in Sacramento. He joined Carmichael Presbyterian Church as a teenager where he met his future wife of 49 yrs, Barbara. We have two only children (daughters) and four grandchildren. He was educated at El Camino High School, earned an A.B. in Biochemistry from Cal, a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Indiana University Medical School and did post-doctoral work at Washington University Medical School in St. Louis. He joined the faculty at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where he spent the rest of his professional career. Truckee was a place Ed and Barbara visited often as they grew up, back as far as when a drive to Truckee on US 40 was an all-day adventure. We knew deep down that this was where we wanted to retire. Ed enjoys model railroading, hiking, snowshoeing, the great outdoors and spoiling the grandkids.
