Edie Lott

Edie feels a real call and passion for reaching out to care for those Christ called, “the least of these.” She is a retired Special Education teacher.  In her retirement years she also has found a love of technology.  You can blame Ed Hilton for that!  For several years Edie has done most of the technology, social media and graphic design for TLPC.  At the March 2020 Council -Session Meeting, the council voted unanimously to name Edie as Director of Technology for TLPC.  While Edie has been active in the leadership of TLPC for twenty-five years, especially in the area of social action, she is excited to be part of the staff even though it is not a paid position!

Edie and her spouse, Denny have been active members of TLPC for over twenty-five years. They also co-chair the Sierra Pacific Synod of the ELCA Hunger Network.   Edie is also Secretary of the Policy Council and Webmaster for Lutheran Office of Public Policy California.  She is a Christian anti-hunger activist, who believes Christ calls all Christians to work to end hunger and extreme poverty in our time.  Edie and Denny find great joy in living in Truckee and love to hike, mountain bike, kayak and cross country ski.

Favorite Quote:  “God is in the slums. In the cardboard boxes where the poor play house.  God is in the silence of a mother who has infected her child with a virus that will end both of their lives. God is in the cries heard under the ruble of war.  God is in the debris of wasted opportunity and lives, and God is with us if we are with them.” U2’s Bono
