About 10 years ago we at Truckee Lutheran Presbyterian Church began collecting California Redemption Value (CRV) recycling and using the proceeds to benefit Stand With Africa. Who would have ever believed that the simple act of saving your water bottles or soda cans and bringing them to church could make a difference in the lives of hungry people around the globe in Africa? Well it’s happened again. TLPC’s CRV recycling, collected over $800 last year! What we collect will be matched by Thrivent and will be culminated with a worship celebration and a party. With matching funds we will send $1,200 to programs to benefit Africa next summer. What a difference that amount of money makes!
